Being a Freshman in college can be…well, to say the least, terrifying. It’s just like your freshman year of highschool, only a little different. Your the little fish, swimming in the big pond. College is learning to be dependent upon yourself. It’s a new experience, being independent, not relying on your parents for everything. Thank goodness my parents didn’t shelter me. They were trying to prepare me the best they could for this, and I think they did a pretty bang up job. They allowed me to make mistakes and learn from them.
Coming into college was different for me. I already had a family..my team. They helped me get through my first few days of school, and are helping me get through all of this crazy pre season workouts. I have an actual support system. Which is why I’m happy to not be a regular student. Even though, they have the school to back them up, some came in with no friends and not a clue. They had no choice, but to go out and make friends. Now..you maybe saying, “What’s this girls deal? Why is she comparing herself to me?” Well, sometimes I wish I was apart of the normal life…ONLY SOMETIMES. College is hard work, but as an athlete, you dont get a break in your scheduel. I want to be the best student-athlete, I want to aquire at least a 3.8 GPA this semester. It’s all about time managment..well, that’s what they told me, and they were so right! Well, here it goes…I’m here and ready SCSU(:
